RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration Service 2019

Media are invited to the annual RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration Service today, Tuesday 9 April 2019 from 11am at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park.

More than 100 schools from throughout Sydney will participate in the Service, which will feature 1500 school children and supporting adults. 

The Service is completely conducted by the school students from the Master of Ceremonies through to the keynote speech, the Readings and the musical accompaniment.

Background
The ANZAC Service has been conducted in Hyde Park every year since 1953 and is a collaboration between Catholic Schools NSW, the Association of Independent Schools of NSW, the NSW Department of Education and RSL NSW.

As part of the Service, each school attending will lay a wreath, along with dignitaries. The Service will also include an Inspection of the Guard by the official party, the Last Post, the Ode and Reveille. Harry Hicks from Bede Polding Catholic College (South Windsor) will give the ANZAC Address.
