RSL NSW Sport and Recreation Pilot

The RSL sub-Branch Sport and Recreation Pilot Program enrolment was launched on 1 March 2022 and will run until 1 November 2022. This program is a key component of the 2021-2026 Strategic Plan and supports our goal to grow membership to support each other, have fun, and help all veterans and their families in need.

The pilot program supports veteran wellbeing and community connection fueled by mateship, recreation, and a bit of healthy competition along the way. The structure is purpose-built and designed in line with the latest research in consultation with members.

Participation is open to RSL members, the wider veteran community, and their families. There are 2 structures to consider for participation:

  1. The Sports and Recreation Ladder Challenge – a multisport ladder competition involving 4 sports and 2 recreation activities. Competing sub-Branches can challenge each other in one of the selected activities for position on the ladder.
  2. The Sports and Recreation Participation Competition – A fun, collaborative point-based competition that involves choosing from a list of 16 activities to do as a Sub-Branch. Bonus points are on offer for collaborating with nearby sub-Branches, hosting family-friendly activities, and collaborating with local veteran-serving organisations.

If you are in the Eastern Metropolitan or Lower North Coast Districts and are keen to join the fun, register your sub-Branch by completing the RSL NSW Sport and Recreation Pilot Team Registration Form. Individuals can get involved by contacting one of the below participating RSL sub-Branches.
