Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering with RSL NSW means you are supporting our mission to respect, support and remember our veterans and their families.

RSL NSW organises different activities throughout the year that you can get involved in as a volunteer. However, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily pausing volunteering activities for the safety of our volunteers and staff.

If you would like to register your interest in volunteering for RSL NSW in the future, read about some of the opportunities available and submit the expression of interest form below.

ANZAC Day March

Form up guide: you will be required to assist with directing veterans participating in the march to the correct form up location within the corresponding CBD streets.

Route marshal: located along the march route, you will help guide veterans where needed and assist the media team to ensure the march continues during any interviews.

Dispersal guide: at the end of the march you will be assisting veterans to dispersal areas to ensure there is no congestion in the surrounding streets.

ANZAC Day Commemoration

Help seat VIPs and invited guests, and direct members of the public to viewing areas. You will also hand out Order of Service programs whilst directing guests.

You may also be asked to assist before the service directing the public to the best cross over points during the march.

ANZAC Appeal

You will be the face of the appeal, interacting with the public and giving people the opportunity to support the appeal.

Commemorations (Outside of ANZAC Day)

RSL NSW has up to four commemorations outside of ANZAC Day. You can assist in seating VIPs and invited guests, and direct members of the public to viewing areas. You will also hand out Order of Service programs whilst directing guests and answering general questions.

Poppy Appeal

You will be the face of the appeal, interacting with the public and giving people the opportunity to support the appeal.

Admin/Event Work at ANZAC House

At various times throughout the year, staff at ANZAC House (the RSL NSW State Branch office) require assistance in the lead up to events. This could be sorting out lanyards, updating RSVP lists, creating seating name tags. Computer knowledge is preferred.
