RSL NSW has placed Liaison Officer Bronte Pollard at the National Centre for Veterans Healthcare (NCVH) at Concord Hospital. Bronte’s role will enable him to respond to enquiries from sub-Branches who identify veterans who might benefit from the Centre’s clinical services, assist the Centre with supporting veterans staying at ‘Fussell House,’ and liaise with the Veteran Services Division of RSL LifeCare.

Bronte is a volunteer and an independent member of the RSL NSW Veterans Services and Policy Committee and is passionate about the holistic concept of the case management of treatment and discharge planning for veterans with complex medical needs.

The NCVH provides planned and scheduled care across a range of specialist services for veterans including psychology, drug and alcohol problems, pain management and control, and generalised lifestyle, fitness, and nutritional programs.

The new on-site residential accommodation, ‘Fussell House’, was funded by a $6.7 million contribution from the Commonwealth Government. Fussell House features 19 rooms (single, twin, and family rooms) with common living, kitchen, dining, and laundry spaces, and an outdoor area for the exclusive use of veterans and their families who are receiving care at the NCVH.

Free on-site parking at Concord Hospital is available to veterans and war widows who carry a Gold Card. RSL NSW is lobbying the NSW Government to offer free parking to all veterans and war widows that are DVA cardholders at all public hospital sites across NSW.
