I appreciate that our members and local communities are anxious to understand how ANZAC Day commemorations will take place this year, and when sub-Branches should commence planning.
Due to COVID-19 and using Christmas 2020 as an example we know that the best-made plans can change very quickly, and at this point, it would be premature for me to give you a formal direction about how to approach planning commemorations and informing your community.
I am working with the NSW Government, NSW Police, and NSW Health to determine a COVID-safe approach to state-wide commemorations and I expect that I will soon be able to provide sound advice on how sub-Branches should proceed.
I can assure you that I am doing everything possible to ensure that I provide timely advice to sub-Branches with sufficient notice to plan commemorations.
