Circular 55/22 Future of Australian Forces Overseas Fund NSW Branch (AFOF)

This circular is to inform you that the management committee of the Australian Forces Overseas Fund, NSW Division (AFOF) has made the decision to windup the Trust and transfer the remaining funds to RSL LifeCare Veteran Services in accordance with Rule 15 of the Fund Rules and clause 14 of the AFOF Trust Deed. The Trust will be wound up after its 2023 Annual General Meeting to be held in March 2023.

Members may be aware that the object of the AFOF Trust was “…the provision of comforts, equipment and entertainment for Australian servicemen and women serving overseas or in such other areas as may be determined from time to time.”   RSL LifeCare have confirmed to RSL NSW that the funds transferred from AFOF would be held separately and continue to be applied to the objects of the Trust as stated above. This will ensure that the programs undertaken by AFOF can continue. It is important to note that there is no change to the structure of AFOF at an RSL Australia level.

The office bearers of AFOF would like to take this opportunity to thank those sub-Branches that have generously donated to the Trust in support of its objects.
