Hyde Park Inn

The Hyde Park Inn’s loyalty program, the Defence Family Loyalty Club, offers benefits to all current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their immediate family members.

This program is free to join and replaces the discounts previously only available to RSL NSW members.

For more information see the Frequently Asked Questions below.

Hyde Park Inn - Defence Family Loyalty Club FAQs
Why is the loyalty program available beyond RSL NSW members?

RSL NSW exists to support all veterans and their families. The benefits which were traditionally available to RSL NSW members now extend to all veterans and their families. This is consistent with RSL NSW’s mission as a veteran’s charity.

As such, RSL NSW has expanded access to preferred rates to all current and ex-serving Defence Force members. The loyalty club enables all current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their immediate family to access benefits.

How do I join the Defence Family Loyalty Club?

The Defence Family Loyalty Club will be free to join and has no annual fee. For more information and for a membership application form please email inforequest@hydeparkinn.com.au

If you meet the eligibility criteria you can choose to join whenever you wish, even at the time of booking your stay. Valid ID must be provided by the time of check-in on first visit. Full details are available in the terms and conditions.

How is the pricing structured?

There is a two-tier preferred pricing structure, with one rate for single-night stays on a Saturday night, and a lower rate for all other stays. New preferred rates are from $137.50 for a Budget Standard room, $159.50 for a Standard Room and $176.00 for a Deluxe room for one or two people. These rates have no minimum stay requirements. Pre-payment and deposits are not required. Full details are in the terms and conditions.

For those looking to book a single-night stay on a Saturday night, a higher preferred rate will apply – Budget Standard room $192.50, Standard room $198.00, Deluxe room $220.

There will be some blackout dates when loyalty club preferred rates will not apply, and instead the best available public rate will be offered.

Why have blackout dates been introduced and how will this affect me?

The introduction of blackout dates was something carefully considered and will apply in peak periods when demand for rooms is high. These are based on non-military event periods such as New Year’s Eve, the Easter long weekend, and City2Surf weekend.

Preferred rates will still apply on ANZAC Day and ANZAC Day eve, and other events such as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. A full list of blackout dates and minimum stay requirements during these times is available in the terms and conditions.

During these blackout dates, preferred rates will not apply, and instead the best available public rate will be offered. There are also minimum stay requirements during these periods.

Blackout dates may also apply on one-off special events, but these will be communicated to members via email at least six months prior.

What if I don’t want to join the Defence Family Loyalty Club - can I still stay at the Hyde Park Inn?

Yes, everyone is always welcome, and you will still be offered the best available public rate for your stay.

Can my family members make use of the discount even if I am not traveling with them?

Yes. As part of the joining process, eligible members will be able to nominate up to six additional members of their immediate family. See terms and conditions for more information.

Can I access preferred rates when booking through other travel portals such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc?

No. All Defence Family Loyalty Club bookings must be made directly with the Hyde Park Inn. The Hyde Park Inn is building a new website which will eventually allow bookings to be made directly online. Until then, please call or email the Hyde Park Inn directly.
