Awards for Recognition of Service

For information and action

Nomination deadlines for two of RSL NSW’s highest honours are approaching.

  • The Certificate of Merit nominations close on 31 July 2018 at 4.30pm
  • The Meritorious Service Medal nominations close on 31 August 2018

Nomination forms are available in the secure zone of the RSL NSW website. The forms can be found under the heading Application Forms on the website. Copies are also attached for convenience.

Nomination forms need to be submitted to the State Secretary before the closing date.

Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day Commemoration

For information and circulation to sub-Branch members

Sub-Branches are invited to attend the VP Day Commemoration. The Governor and Premier have been invited along with leaders of the ex-service community and consular Corp.

Place: Cenotaph, Martin Place Sydney

Date: Wednesday 15 August 2018

Time: 11am

Dress: Medals / decorations may be worn

RSVP: No RSVP is required

Sub-Branches attending are welcome to lay a wreath under the direction of the Custodian of the Cenotaph.

 

Korean War Armistice Annual Commemoration Service

For information and circulation to sub-Branch members.

The Guardians of the NSW Korean War Memorial have invited RSL NSW members to attend the annual ceremony to commemorate the Korean War Armistice (27 July 1953).

Place: Korean War Memorial in Moore Park, Sydney (near the corner of ANZAC Pde & Moore Park Rd)

Date: Friday 27 July 2018

Time: 11am

Dress: Medals / decorations may be worn

RSVP: By email to the Deputy Chair Mr Darren Mitchell by 11 July 2018. Dmitchell1@vtown.com.au

Parking: Near Kippax Lake, opposite the Memorial entry via Driver Avenue from Moore Park Road.

Attendees are welcome to lay a wreath during the ceremony. The organisers of this event are hoping that as many Korean War veterans as possible will attend.

 

State Secretary Newsletter Frequency

The State Secretary newsletters have been sent irregularly.  We appreciate this is confusing and could lead to information being missed.

State Secretary newsletters will now be sent routinely to sub-Branch email addresses on Wednesday afternoon by 4.30pm. This means sub-Branches can log into their sub-Branch email after 4.30pm to access current ANZAC house information.

State Secretary Newsletters are filed in the secure zone of the RSL NSW website.
