State Secretary Newsletter – 13 November 2019

Dear Members,

Capitation Fees for New Memberships

In line with a motion carried at our recent congress, sub-Branches are advised that the 2020 annual subscription fee for new members is $35, with the RSL NSW capitation fee component now $25. The $25 capitation fee component should be paid to RSL NSW, preferably by EFT or cheque, and must accompany all new membership applications.

Please keep in mind that membership renewals for 2020 will be processed under a new system by which sub-Branches will collect the full annual subscription fee of $35 from each of their members, and RSL NSW will invoice the sub-Branch for the combined capitation fee. This system was explained in detail in a circular sent to Honorary Secretaries last month (C11/19, click here).

2020 Membership Cards

Members should be aware that we do not currently have a date for the issue of new memberships cards. Once a date has been confirmed it will be disseminated via a future newsletter.

Remembrance Day & Poppy Appeal

I trust you all had successful Remembrance Day services. You are the custodians of a sacred tradition, and I know you take pride in giving the public this opportunity to pay tribute to those who served before us, and alongside us.

Thanks to all sub-Branches that have participated in the Poppy Appeal, and to the members and others who have donated, spread the word, and volunteered to help. The appeal officially ends this Friday, 15 November, however, you will continue to be able to donate through the Poppy Appeal website (click here and please share the link).

The enthusiasm and cooperation towards a shared goal across the League for this appeal has been inspiring, particularly coming out of a difficult couple of years.

Please be aware that paperwork and leftover stock (with picking slip) should be returned by 29 November to the following addresses:

  • Leftover stock (with picking slip): PMA Global, 1 Grady Crescent, Erskine Park NSW 2759
  • Paperwork: RSL Fundraising, Level 5, 341 George St, Sydney NSW 2000
