Teddy Sheean to Posthumously Receive Victoria Cross

RSL NSW is pleased to hear that Prime Minister Scott Morrison has recommended the Queen posthumously award World War II hero Edward ‘Teddy’ Sheean a Victoria Cross.

Records show that Teddy Sheean helped launch life rafts before returning to his anti-aircraft gun to fire at enemy aircraft that were approaching shipmates in the water.

We are happy to see that Sheean’s heroic actions will be duly recognised, following our contact with Prime Minister Morrison to advocate for the award of the Victoria Cross.

Read the letter from RSL NSW Acting President Ray James to the Prime Minister and the response we received.
