National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention- Public Consultation on the Bills
The government announced that the National Commissioner is being created in recognition of the need for concerted action to address the unacceptably high rates of suicide among the Australian Defence Force (ADF) member and veteran communities.
They are calling for submissions on two Bills, their interaction and how the National Commissioner will operate.
RSL NSW will be coordinating its submission along with other states through RSL National.
Given the timeline, we are unable to follow the formal feedback process through sub-Branch Executive and DPC, and therefore are making you aware that RSL NSW will be making direct contact with members to seek submissions, by 9 September.
These will be coordinated and provided to RSL National, to meet the 24 September deadline.
