Circular 8/23 Government funding grants now available for application

RSL NSW sub-Branch Executives may be interested in applying for the following Government-funded grants programs.

The Community War Memorials Fund: The NSW Office for Veterans Affairs provides grants of up to $10,000 to support projects that help conserve, repair, and protect war memorials across NSW. Grants are available for a wide range of projects including conservation assessments, honour roll repair, war memorial cleaning and conservation work, arborist advice for war memorial trees, security measures for memorials, repairs to war memorial halls, and improvements to the accessibility of memorials.

Applications to Round 2 of the 2022/23 Community War Memorials Fund close at 5 pm on 13 February 2023.

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants: The Department of Veterans’ Affairs provides funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program for a range of projects which preserve Australian wartime heritage, highlight the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel, and promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service.

Applications for Batch 3 of the 2022 program close at 9 pm on 7 February 2023.

Building Excellence in Support and Training: The Department of Veterans’ Affairs provides grants to support the work of ex-service organisations (ESOs) in providing advocacy services to the Defence and veteran communities. Advocates give advice and assistance about claims, entitlements, and services. The BEST grant is intended to be a contribution towards the costs incurred by ESOs in providing these services.

Applications close at 9 pm on 23 February 2023.

On 25 November 2022, the NSW Office for Veterans Affairs held an online grants forum for NSW ESOs. The forum focused on grant writing skills, available funding opportunities, and the challenges that NSW ESOs face when applying for grant funding.
